A 12-year-old boy died in a crash on Twini Hill on Tuesday night, 12 January.
At about 9.30pm, Netcare 911 paramedics were summoned to the scene where a vehicle had overturned on the N2 south on Umbogintwini Hill.
Paramedics and the fire department found a double cab Isuzu bakkie had overturned on the bend. The wreckage came to rest on its side in the breakdown lane of the highway. The 12–year-old is believed to have been sitting in the passenger seat, however he was found lying in the roadway near the wreckage. He had died before their arrival. No-one else was injured in the accident.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by police.
