Kingsburgh library to be extended

The community is invited to participate as part of the larger Warner Beach upliftment initiative.

A few focus projects have been initiated by eThekwini libraries for the 2015/16 financial year.

These include a youth unemployment and business corner initiative.

This exercise aims to facilitate a platform where local business or employers can advertise positions or where information will be available of people who are seeking employment. It will include research facilities for job seekers, coupled with assistance from staff to compile CVs.

An invitation is extended to all authors – whether published or not – to participate in debate and information sharing to be hosted at Amanzimtoti library at the end of January.
Registration closes at the end of November. An invitation is further extended to all publishers to attend and acquaint themselves with new talent.

The book selected for the next quarter of the ‘One city one book’ initiative is ‘Last Rhino’ by Anthony Lawrence. Information on activities that are associated with the exercise and registration to participate can now be done through the nearest library.

With limited funding approved, renovations have commenced towards converting the Lions club at 2 Hall Road in Warner beach into an activities room for Kingsburgh library.

“While discussion is being led with relevant departments towards landscaping both the old Strelitizia Hall and Lions club sites, we invite community-initiated participation as part of the larger Warner Beach node community-driven upliftment initiative,” said ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.
