World Animal Week donations boost SPCA

The money will be used to foot the food bill during the festive season.

TOTI SPCA collected close to R9,200 during a tin can collection drive during World Animal Week in the first week of October.

“The donations will help us look after all the animals in our care,” said SPCA manager, Tracey Girling.

Volunteers collected at Pick n Pay Kingsburgh, Pick n Pay Hyper Arbour Crossing, Athlone Park Pick n Pay, Makro, Seadoone Mall and Scottburgh Mall.

“Thanks to everyone who donated money and food and to our volunteers who gave up their Saturday morning to help our furry friends.”

Thanks also go to the centre managers for allowing the SPCA volunteers to rattle their tins on their premises.

A total of R9,132,70 was collected which will go towards the organisation’s food bill during the busy festive season.
