Kidnap ends in body’s discovery at Illovo

A 20-year-old man was grabbed by the occupants of a blue Toyota Tazz.

TOTI detectives are investigating a case of kidnapping and murder after the body of a man was found at Illovo River in Fakazi Reserve on Monday, 19 October at about 2.45pm.

“It is alleged by a family member, the deceased Nkululeko Nicholas Ntetha (20) was with his mother in Isipingo on Sunday, 18 October between 6am and 9am when a blue Toyota Tazz stopped next to them. The occupants got out, grabbed him, pushed him into the car and sped off. He did not return home,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

On Monday, 19 October a body was found at the Illovo River in Fakazi Reserve.

“Ntetha was found lying on his back with his hands tied behind his back with a piece of cloth. It appeared as if he had been assaulted with a blunt object. He sustained multiple bruises all over his body and an open wound on the side of his face.”

He was identified by his sister.

The perpetrators are unknown at this stage.
