Taxi crash injures 17

Four people sustained serious injuries.

SEVENTEEN people were injured after a taxi and a vehicle collided on the M35 near Platt Drive, Isipingo on Monday, 19 October at 7am.

“Both vehicles collided before the taxi overturned. Paramedics found patients lying around the vehicles. More ambulances were called to assist, as well as advanced life support units. Two people suffered serious injuries while the rest sustained minor to moderate injuries,” said Rescue Care’s operations director Garrith Jamieson.

Once the injured were stabilised, they were taken to various Durban hospitals for further care.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision, however SAPS were on the scene.
