Help George on road to recovery

A committee has been established and a bank account opened for those who would like to assist.

“WE are with you all the way to show our support. For George’s dedicated quest to protect our community. How can we help?”.

Comments such as these in support of George Snodey continue to pour in to My Sapphire CommUnity.

George is back home since his near fatal accident three weeks ago and is making good progress. He spent two weeks in hospital, most of it in ICU. Doctors attribute the fact that he survived the accident to his excellent level of fitness and it is hoped that he will make a full recovery.

A committee has been established and a bank account opened for those who would like to assist George on his road to recovery. The out-of-hospital expenses are expected to be considerable.

Amanzimtoti Sports Centre (ASC) is represented on the committee and appeals to the sporting community to support the fundraising drive.

“George has given so much to our community. His contributions to sport, awards for bravery and dedication to fighting crime are legendary. We thank those who have already made donations. Arrangements are underway and as soon as George is well enough, we will be honouring him with a community hero award,” said ASC’s Craig Chamier.

Residents who would like to contribute in any way other than by making a donation, can email Glynis at mysapphirecommunity@gmail.com.
