A thirteen-year-old-boy was injured after a vehicle struck him in Old Main Road in Toti on Wednesday afternoon, 7 October.
“The child was playing on the verge in a dead-end when a vehicle came hurtling down the road, slammed into the concrete curb with such force that it moved a concrete slab of enormous weight for some distance,” said Netcare 911 media liaison, Chris Botha.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived and found the vehicle wedged on the concrete slab on the verge.
The child who was playing on the grass was found at the side of the road with moderate injuries. After medics treated him, they transported the boy and his parents to a local hospital.
