A MAN died in a shooting incident in Lotus Drive in Isipingo on Wednesday evening, 7 October.
“The man was driving his vehicle along Lotus Drive when he was shot. Netcare 911 paramedics found the vehicle had veered off the road and crashed into a gatepost. The driver was found slumped over in his seat. Tragically, he died due to the extensive injuries he sustained,” said Netcare 911 media liaison, Chris Botha.
Provincial police spokesman, Major Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident occurred at about 7pm.
“Two armed men allegedly tried to hijack a vehicle in Lotus Drive. The driver allegedly resisted and he was fatally shot. The men fled. Isipingo police are still at the scene,” said Major Zwane.
