Snodey on the mend

A community fundraiser is being started to assist with medical expenses.

TOTI crime fighter George Snodey is doing well and could possibly be discharged from hospital on Thursday, 8 October, according to his sister, Gertie Gouws.

George was seriously injured in a crash on the N2 near the Seadoone on-ramp on Friday, 25 September.

“He had surgery to his face on Wednesday, 30 September and on his knee on Monday, 5 October. But, his right eye is still closed and he has to see a specialist.”

She described him as happy and his usual, chirpy self.

He is recovering in the surgical ward.

To assist George with his medical expenses, Glynis Rathbone of My Sapphire CommUnity has intiated a fundraiser. “He has helped the community, now it’s our turn to help him, as he has put his life on the line on many occasions,” said Glynis.

A committee has been formed and will meet on Friday, 9 October to finalise banking details, which will then be made public.
