Robbery victim suffers epileptic attack

The robbers got away with cash and other valuables.

A WOMAN suffered an epileptic attack after two men accosted her, hit her on the head and robbed her at the corner of Kingsway and Queens Terrace on Monday, 21 September at about 8am.

“It is alleged the 38-year-old woman was waiting for a lift from her colleagues of a security company based in Athlone Park, when two men approached her. One grabbed her from behind and produced a knife. She was hit on the back of her head by an unknown object and as a result had an epileptic attack,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

The woman, who has a medical history of epilepsy, was treated and stabilised by Netcare paramedics and taken to hospital for observation.

She was discharged from hospital later the same day.

The robbers stole a wallet, R1,300 cash and jewellery.

Toti detectives are investigating a case of robbery.
