A secondary crash took place after the N2 was closed at Doonside yesterday (Saturday, 19 September), injuring one person.
A report from the scene indicates the highway was backing up with traffic from the earlier truck crash at the Doonside off-ramp when the vehicle traveling from Umkomaas to Durban collided into the rear of a truck.
Netcare 911 paramedics found the injured passenger lying next to the vehicle with serious injuries. After medics stabilised the man, they transported him to an area hospital. The driver of the vehicle escaped from the crash uninjured.
