Breakfast cupcakes raise R7,000 in aid of cancer foundation

Learners and staff of Kingsway High School donated money for a cupcake.

KINGSWAY High School held a successful cupcake for breakfast campaign to raise funds for the Levi Lionheart Foundation on Tuesday, 1 September.

The well-supported event saw R7,702 raised.

“One of our life science’s teachers, Tanya Palframan’s young son, Levi (3) is battling cancer and she had to understandably leave to look after him. Little Levi is undergoing chemotherapy,” said school marketer, Elaine Woor.

The Levi Lionheart Foundation will be used to “raise funds for cancer awareness, research and treatment, especially for the benefit of children, particularly for those families who are financially challenged regarding affordability of cancer and related medical treatment costs”.
Kingsway High got on board with fundraising by holding a cupcake for breakfast campaign.

“Learners and staff donated money for a cupcake and wrote the name of someone close to them or Levi, who is battling cancer, on their hands. We would like to thank one of our parents, Mrs Botha, who organised companies to sponsor the cakes”.

Thanks also go to K2 Electronics, Gemini Events, Sweetwaters Youth, Clearwaters Spur and Eagle Canyon Spur.

If anyone would like to make a donation to the Levi Lionheart Foundation, deposits can be made into the following account: Standard Bank, account number 034-454-136 (savings account), branch code 051-001, name of account Levi Jake Palframan (the foundation is in the process of being registered and the account is being audited by Brett John & Palmer Auditors).
