Since the hacking of the married dating website, Ashley Madison earlier this week, the site’s 39-million previously anonymous users will find themselves squirming at the prospect of their infidelity becoming public knowledge.

Malfideleco has published a visual map showing the gender disparity in the user profiles of AshleyMadison.com users. Note the dominance of male users in the greater Durban area, according to this map.

The online dating and social networking service fell prey to hackers earlier this week, who subsequently released 10gb of data and exposed users of the site to scrutiny. While CEO of Avid Life Media, AshleyMadison’s parent company, Noel Biderman called into question the veracity of the first data dump earlier this week, the hackers released a second, 20gb data dump again on Wednesday. This data appeared to call him out, with a message accompanying the release stating: “Hey Noel, you can admit it’s real now.” Some of the file names in the second data dump appear to include company emails.

An internet investigation service that tailors to romantic suspicions, Trustify has launched a mechanism for visitors to check whether an email account was used on the Ashley Madison or Adult Friend Finder websites.
