UPDATE: Petrol tankers crash, road repairs underway

The road surface will either be scraped or resurfaced before being re-opened.

THE northbound lane of the N2 below the Sarnia Road overhead bridge where a petrol and a diesel tanker crashed early this morning will remain closed while the road is being repaired.

As a large section of the road surface has burnt away, it will be dug up and either scraped or resurfaced entirely before being re-opened to traffic.

Motorists on the southbound lane of the N2 are also affected as the freeway is expected to remain closed for several more hours. Traffic from the southbound lane is being diverted via the M7.
