Car crashes off bridge, two injured

Emergency services used the jaws of life to free the injured.

TWO men were seriously injured after their car crashed off a bridge on the N2 in Umgababa in the early hours of Wednesday, 1 July.

ER24 posted on its website that paramedics, along with fire services were called to the scene and found the light motor vehicle wedged between the barrier and bridge.

Two men trapped inside sustained serious injuries. Fire services had to use the jaws of life to free them in a 30-minute operation.

Once freed, paramedics immobilised and treated them, before they were taken to hospital.

The cause of the incident is unknown, but police attended the scene.
