Hospice always needs donations

Please think of Hospice if and when you clean and clear your cupboards.

Khanya Hospice reminds the Toti public that it is constantly looking for cash donations or clothes, brick-a-brac, cutlery, crockery, furniture, garden tools, garden furniture and equipment, sport and gym equipment, or whatever you have to give away.

“Hospice does not get any government subsidy and we put the donated items up for sale in one of our shops,” said Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald. “The money generated from this helps sustain the free palliative nursing care and free support to the family of the patients that Hospice offers.

Our nursing staff go into rural areas and have to walk 2km to 3km to some places, as there are no roads. We need to maintain our vehicles, as we cannot allow our nursing staff to get stuck on the roads.

The huge hike in the petrol price also affects our budget in a big way.

Please think of Hospice if and when you clean and clear your cupboards, or move house and home or scale down, and donate your unwanted goods to Hospice.”

Anyone wanting to make a donation can call 039-973-1783/0277 or email manager@khanyahospice.org.za.
