Mother and daughter robbed while asleep

Thieves stole electronic equipment and other valuables.

A MOTHER and daughter were robbed of their valuables while they were fast asleep in their flat in a complex in Entombeni Drive, Toti in the early hours of Thursday, 11 June.

“I woke up with a fright, thinking I was late. As I reached for my cellphone, it was no longer next to me,” said Sam Ledeboer.

As she rushed around looking for her phone, she saw the back door open. “I noticed items had been knocked over. I ran to my daughter Kimberley’s room, she was asleep, but her window was open. That’s how the thieves entered.”

A handbag, laptop, watch, camera, tablet, DVD player and two cellphones were stolen. Sam found her ID book lying at the back of the unit and store slips in front.

“I did not hear anything. What scares me is that they got to my cellphone by climbing on my bed, it’s the only way they could have reached it.

She has reported the incident to police.
