Wheelchairs donated by Lions

The six wheelchairs were purchased from the proceeds of the Lions' auction.

Jona Vaughan Home and Mooihawens were the grateful recipients of donations of wheelchairs from Kingsburgh Lions on Wednesday, 27 May.

The six wheelchairs were purchased from the proceeds of the Lions’ auction held at Lords and Legends on 29 March.

“We deal with both these organisations and support them in various ways,” said Kingsburgh Lions president, Pat Wilson. “We felt their need for wheelchairs was great.

We thank the Toti public for their donations and support of our auction. Only through their help, were we able to do this.”

Jona Vaughan Home manager, Fiona Anderson was overwhelmed by the donation of wheelchairs to her residents.

“On behalf of Durban and Coastal Mental Health and Jona Vaughan Home residents, we say heartfelt thanks to the Kingsburgh Lions for their wonderful donation of four wheelchairs, which will make a positive impact on the recipients. It will improve their lives and enable them to get around, visit our garden and participate more in activities at the centre.”
