eTHEKWINI Municipality has received information of a scam that is currently targeting pensioners who complete forms for rebates on electricity increases.
“No additional forms are required to be completed apart from the annual rebate renewal applications and new application forms,” said communications head, Tozi Mthethwa
“Customers are urged to be vigilant to avoid falling prey to criminals posing as municipal employees. A representative of the municipality will have an ID tag with a photograph, ID or employee number with a municipal logo.”
