Solid start for new SPCA thrift shop (PHOTOS)

Donations of goods and food for the animals are needed.

STAFF, volunteers and the animals of Toti SPCA thank the Scottburgh community for supporting its new charity shop.

“The community welcomed us with open arms and has been supportive of us since we opened on 1 April. They have donated branded clothing in great condition, kitchenware, beautiful jewellery, great reads and the occasional antique,” said Toti SPCA PRO, Michelle Hannan.

The shop is doing so well that it is almost on par with the already well-established shops at the SPCA premises at 1 Nyathi Road, Athlone Park.

“Money raised from the Scottburgh shop will be used in our outreach programmes, where we help rural communities sterilise their animals. We rely on the generosity of the community to keep on operating.”

The SPCA thanks all who helped with the Scottburgh shop.

“We encourage locals to get involved by either volunteering or donating unwanted, re-sellable goods.”

If anyone would like to donate goods or food for the animals, drop it off at shop 17a in the Southern Cross Centre in Arbuthnot Street or call Nigel Eady on 083-696-3919 to organise collection of goods or go to the shop and leave your details in the donation book.
