ANIMAL welfare organisation, 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue has decided to extend its foster care programme into Toti.
“Foster homes play a huge part in re-homing our rescues, as this is where they are socialised with people, children and other dogs. They learn how to behave properly in a home environment, how to play, and follow rules. They also learn what it means to be loved, properly fed and to sleep in a comfy, dry and cosy bed. We are desperate for foster homes and have quite a few rescues needing foster homes. We also need foster homes we can call on in future should a rescue come in with nowhere to go,” said the organisation’s Nicky Koekemoer.
To be considered as a foster home, the following is required:
- A secure property with no holes in fencing, high enough fencing or walls for large dog not to jump over and gated.
- Animal-loving family and children who know and respect dogs and cats.
- Well socialised dogs or cats.
- Enough space and a decent sized garden.
- Experience with puppies, older dogs, kittens and older cats.
- Loads of love to give, and wanting to save some lives.
- Permission from your landlord should you not own the property.
- Are home most of the time, either retired, stay at home mom, dad, wife, husband or work from home.
- Be willing to spend some time and commit to some possible transition issues with a lot of patience and love.
If you meet the above requirements, and you think you can help save a life by offering a sunny, temporary spot in your heart and home, contact Nicky on 084-626-5508 or email info@4pawsnadatalerescue.co.za to arrange a home check.
