Country club wall still broken three months later

The municipality responded to the Sun's latest query to say it had sent it to the relevant unit for action.

More than three months after it was reported, Amanzimtoti Country Club’s (ACC) broken boundary wall has still not been repaired by eThekwini Municipality.

The Sun first contacted the municipality about the problem on Wednesday, 14 January, but only received a response on Tuesday, 17 February.

eThekwini head of communications, Tozi Mthethwa said there was no refuse or health risk at the site of the broken wall, although the Sun had photographic evidence to the contrary.

In February he said the broken section of the wall will be fixed by the relevant municipal department in due course, which has not happened.Chairman of ACC, Dave Richardson contacted the numbers supplied with the municipality’s response to the Sun’s queries, only to reach other personnel in the communication department and not the relevant department to initiate the repair.

After being referred to the parks department, he spoke to the head of the department, Thembinkosi Ngcobo, who requested the information via email, which to date he hasn’t responded to.
