Rabies vaccine campaign comes to Toti

The health of pets and families depend on vaccinating dogs and cats against rabies.

THE DURBAN State Vet Office will hold its annual rabies vaccination campaign, which is free of charge on the Upper South Coast and Umkomaas from Monday to Thursday, 20 to 23 April.

“Our aim is to eradicate this dread disease. Over the last two years, 40 dogs and a cat have tested positive for rabies, the majority of them were owner dogs. If bitten by an unvaccinated animal, seek immediate treatment at a local clinic as there is no cure once a person contracts the disease. The health of pets and families depend on vaccinating dogs and cats against rabies,” said Dr S Dhanilall.
