Pole dancing feature planned for Toti promenade – APRIL FOOLS JOKE

Thanks to all involved for playing along in our April fool's Day story ;) You guys rock! CONTROVERSIAL plans are afoot for the newly installed feature at the end of Toti’s promenade.

The foundation that was set in December for a 30-metre high Christmas tree has been left in place to facilitate ease of use when the next festive season rolls around.

However, the Sapphire Coast Tourism committee has proposed that the area be used as an attraction throughout the year. As such, they are contemplating other uses for the foundation, including the installation of a multiple storey, 20-metre high pole dancing pole with several stages attached to each level.

According to Jacques van Schalkwyk, the Sapphire Coast committee believes there is a need for live entertainment in Toti, which could be filled by the installation of the pole dancing feature. “We’re keen to attract visitors to Toti, and to offer stand-out entertainment that could be a major drawcard during the holiday seasons,” he said. “We’d love to see the area utilized more, and the advent of a reality type show with knock-out stages might attract attention.”

A round of auditions is planned for the coming Easter holiday break, which will see dancers converge on Toti main beach to strut their stuff in a bid to be the first to mount the pole. Contact Jacques for more information.
