TWO vehicles hijacked in the same driveway in Athlone Park on Thursday, 19 March at about 7.15pm were later recovered by police in Umlazi.
“The complainants were in the process of moving their vehicles to park them for the night when they were approached by two men who ordered them at gunpoint to hand over both vehicle keys, which they did,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.
The hijackers arrived in a silver VW Polo. After receiving the keys, they drove off in both vehicles.
“Fortunately, both vehicles had tracking devices and were recovered in D and B sections of Umlazi by members of Wentworth SAPS and Umlazi TRT.”
