School burglar gets four year sentence

He was linked to the crimes via fingerprints.

A 27-YEAR-OLD man, Sandile Brian Ntuli was found guilty and convicted on three counts of housebreaking and theft at business premises, which occurred at Kingsway and Amanzimtoti High Schools in April 2011 and January 2014.

He was sentenced in Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 13 March and will effectively serve four years for housebreaking and theft. Ntuli was also found unfit to possess a firearm.
“Ntuli was arrested by investigating officer, W/O KD Zungu and successfully linked via fingerprints lifted at the crime scenes,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

The management of Toti SAPS urges the community to report housebreaking cases at residential and business premises, even if nothing is stolen.

“If suspects enter your premises, there is always a possibility that fingerprints can be lifted and these criminals brought to book. When a suspect is arrested for any case, fingerprints are obtained and sent to our Local Criminal Record Centre where it can be linked to fingerprints already on their records. This will assist in our fight against crime in our area.”
