Help Lions host fundraising auction

Donate all sorts of household goods, small pieces of furniture, ornaments, appliances, paintings, crockery.

THE LIONS Club of Kingsburgh is holding a fundraising auction sale of donated items at Lords and Legends on Sunday, 29 March.

“While we are immensely appreciative of the support we have received over the years from the generous public in our area, we are finding it more difficult to meet the needs within our community, which continue to grow at a rapid rate,” said Lion Gwen Ellis.

To make a difference in the lives of others, the club meets some of the needs via various projects such as sight, hearing, diabetes control, wheelchair handovers to the physically and mentally disabled, collection of warm clothes and more.

However due to the increasing needs, fundraising has become vital. The club is therefore holding a fundraising auction. The venue has been provided by Lords and Legends.
“Perhaps you are moving home, down-sizing or want to pass on items you no longer require to a worthy cause. Consider donating items which are in good working order to us as, in doing so, your generosity will help us to help others.”

All types of household goods are welcome, small pieces of furniture, ornaments, appliances, paintings, crockery, literally anything that can be re-sold.
Funds raised will be used to purchase wheelchairs, commodes and other equipment for various local homes for children and the elderly and for the physically and mentally disabled. “The public can rest assured that all funds raised are used to uplift the lives of others, in one way or another within our community.”

The motto of Lions club worldwide is ‘we serve’ and Kingsburgh Lions Club is no exception. In September, the club celebrates its 40th year of voluntary service in the community.
The viewing of items at the auction starts at 11.30am. Registration is at noon and the bidding is at 1pm.

A non-refundable registration fee of R10 will be required from bidders.
