Lions start planning winter campaigns

The club has launched the 'scarves and beanies' and 'anything warm' campaigns.

THE Lions Club of Kingsburgh thanks the many loyal supporters who have knitted or crocheted for them over the years.

It is once again time to launch the club’s ‘Scarves and Beanies’ campaign.

“Despite the hot weather, we ask that you help us by knitting or crocheting scarves and or beanies, for children from tots to teens, and help us to surpass the number we were able to hand out last year at Easter time,” said the club’s Lion Gwen Ellis.

It is also time to launch the club’s annual ‘Anything Warm’ campaign.

“We request the public to donate items of clothing, preferably warm, for any age, including adults.
These may be new or used, as long as they are clean and in good condition. The drop off points will be published in a later edition, but meanwhile we request the public to start sorting through those clothes they haven’t worn for a while and consider donating them to our truly worthy cause. In the past the community has been wonderfully supportive and generous. We trust that this trend will continue.”
