AMANZIMTOTI police mourn the death of their colleague, Lt MM Goge who was gunned down on the evening of Wednesday, 10 December.
Lt Goge was gunned down in front of his house at Malukazi, Makhehleni, by unknown gunmen.
The motive for the killing is unknown.
A case of murder was opened and is being investigated by the organised crime unit.
Lt Goge was attached to the visible policing component at Amanzimtoti SAPS since February 2014.
Before then, he was a detective at Umlazi SAPS.
“For the short period that he was a member of the Amazimtoti SAPS family, he will be remembered as being kind-hearted, helpful and loved, especially by the members under his command. He will be sorely missed,” said Amanzimtoti SAPS spokesman, Capt Charlene van der Spuy. “Our heartfelt condolences goes out to his family, friends and colleagues. May his soul rest in peace.”
Lt Goge’s funeral will be held on Sunday, 21 December at a time yet to be confirmed in the Tholeni area of Umbumbulu.
