Tackle Winkle-Toti-Winkle ski race this weekend

There are some serious cash prizes for the winners of the main paddle and run events to Toti and back

FINALLY the big day has arrived at Winklespruit Lifesaving Club – a reminder to all paddlers and runners of the annual Winkle-Toti-Winkle ski race and beach run which takes place on Sunday, 16 December at Winklespruit main beach starting at 9.30am.

There is also a short course walk and run to Warners and back.

There are some serious cash prizes for the winners of the main paddle and run events to Toti and back, lots of lucky draw prizes for all competitors as well as many activities on the beach and at the clubhouse, including food and refreshments, so take the whole family down. All club members are expected to participate or help.

The past weekend got off to a great start with sundowners on Friday evening hosted by Mike and Fran and as usual, it was very well attended. The rest of the weekend was relatively quiet at the club.

There is a new measure on how tough you really are – take nipper training on a Sunday as Neville discovered this past Sunday. Rumour has it he had to lie down when he got home but this has been categorically denied.

Duty members are to note that it will be a busy festive season and the club expects them to do their duties diligently. The club appreciates the fact that they give up their time to ensure the bathing public remain safe at the beach.

Upcoming events :

13 December – robot collection, all members to participate; 13 December – nipper Christmas party and sleepover; 16 December – Winkle-Toti-Winkle ski race and beach run; 29 December – golf day.

See you on the beach.
