Police probe garage robbery

Cash, cellphones and cigarettes were taken.

TOTI police are investigating a case of armed robbery, after a staff member at the garage opposite Southgate Business Park was held-up on Friday, 14 November at about 7.30pm.

“A man entered the shop at the garage and threatened a staff member behind the counter by showing her an object on the inside of his jacket which looked like a shape of a firearm. He demanded cash to be handed over to him, said Toti SAPS communications officer,” Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

He fled on foot with R8,000 in cash, two cellphones and an undisclosed number of packets of cigarettes.
A case of armed robbery was opened and is being investigated by Toti detectives.
