UPDATE: Beach murder: No known suspects

“No-one has been arrested in connection with the murder and there are no suspects as yet,”

TOTI police have decried social media conjecture and speculation surrounding Friday afternoon’s murder of an 18-year-old Winklespruit woman.

The teen’s body was found in dense coastal bush adjacent to a pathway that leads onto the beach at Doonside, next to Warnadoone Lifesaving Club.

The teen had sustained three stab wounds and her body was discovered close to a few ‘bankies’ of dagga.

Speaking to the Sun on Monday afternoon, 17 November, Toti police spokesman, Capt Charlene Van der Spuy said she had confirmed with detectives investigating the murder on Monday morning that no suspects had as yet been identified.

“No-one has been arrested in connection with the murder and there are no suspects as yet,” she said.

Capt Van der Spuy also confirmed that the body had been found intact. “Reports of body parts being missing are incorrect and untrue.”

  1. How come the father of the deceased posted on Facebook that a Dylan Taljaard plus photo of him is wanted by the police and a R50000 reward. Surely the deceased father cannot make accusations like this let alone post on Facebook which is a public social page.
