Go walkies to SPCA, guide dogs fundraiser

The walk is on Sunday, 28 September at 8.30am.

PET owners and their four-legged friends should prepare to have an awesome time at the Amanzimtoti SPCA and SA Guide Dog Association fundraiser at Hutchison Park on Sunday, 28 September.

A walk along the Toti River to the old River Gardens Hotel and back kicks off at 8.30am. Entry is R20 per dog and the walk should be an hour long. All dogs must be on leashes at all times.
Owners should also take water and bags to pick up poop.

After the walk, a myriad of activities have been planned. Arena events start at 10am. There will be various demonstrations such as dog jumping, dog dancing, carting, obedience, guide dog and grooming demos.
The children have not been left out, as there will be a lollipop hunt for them.

Owners can also show off their pets in a competition. One can enter in the following categories, cutest dog, owner-dog, look-alike, best trick, best dressed and ugliest dog. Entry is R10 per category.
At 10.30am is the start of the canine olympics. Dogs and their owners can participate in a variety of events such as the tunnel, walk the plank, lie down and roll over, sack race, egg and spoon race and other exciting activities.

Fleamarket stalls will also be selling goods. If you have something interesting to sell, which does not have to be pet-related, contact Michelle Hannan on 031-904-2425/5. Stalls cost R100 each.
Donations of pet food and prizes will be appreciated.
