Walker ‘tossed in air’ by urban cow

Woman suffered a large bruise on her upper leg.

TOTI’s Lynette Rowe had a lucky escape from serious injury after she was ‘tossed in the air’ by a large cow while on a walk on the corner of Bernadotte Street and Lewis Drive last Wednesday, 17 September.

At the time, she was taking a walk with a friend at about 4.45pm. “It was a lone, black cow with huge horns. To pass it, I clapped my hands for it to move away, instead it turned around and lifted me up with its horns. As I came down, I landed on my feet but also sustained a bump underneath my chin,” she said.

The incident did not dissuade her from her walk, the cow wandered off and she carried on. “However the next time I see a cow, I will head in the opposite direction.”
Lynettte suffered a large bruise on her upper leg and received an anti-tetanus injection.

  1. That cow and its “friend” was in Louis Botha Drive about a month ago, CCPO and my son managed to herd them down to the park near the NG church.
Whoever owns them needs to take them back or they need ro be rehomed, poor things don’t even have access to a water teough just wondering around the neighborhood.
Im glad the lady was OK, it did come towards me as well, but i jumped back quickly and yelled at it, so it fot a fright.
