Puzzle pieces to fall into place for charity

The completed puzzle will be raffled off to raise funds for Cansa.

Staff at a print shop will put their patience to the test when they complete a 6,000-piece puzzle for charity.

This is the third huge puzzle The Printhouse.co.za in Seadoone Mall will assemble in recent years.

“In 2007 we completed an 18,000-piece puzzle for Khanya Hospice,” said owner, Rose Keates. “The public could sponsor a puzzle piece and the completed work was then auctioned off.

In 2009 we did a 24,000-piece puzzle, which we donated to Kingsway Hospital. It is hung on the second floor of the hospital for everyone to appreciate.”

Staff will start on the 1.6 metre x 1.4 metre puzzle next week in the shop and it is hoped to be completed in a month. The public is welcome to keep an eye on its progress, but unfortunately cannot join in the fun. “In the past, puzzle pieces have been lost, so for safety’s sake, we will limit it to our staff members,” said Rose.

The completed puzzle will be raffled off to raise funds for Cansa. Tickets cost R10. To sell or to find out where to buy tickets, contact Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron on 083-312-5360 or email errolandsharon@skytec.co.za.

The public can also make donations. Banking details: Account name: Cancer Association of South Africa, bank: Standard Bank, Gale Place, Durban, branch code: 042526, account number: 051180596. Pay to code SC Puzzle.
