Two people were killed and two injured in a collision between two vehicles and a truck on the northbound lane of the N2 in Prospecton at about 2.30pm on Thursday, 11 September.
According to an eyewitness, Colin Bedingfield of St Winifreds, who was travelling behind one of the vehicles, a woman in a VW Polo was travelling in the fast lane of the northbound lane, when she left the road. “When her tyres hit the gravel, she corrected and lost control of her vehicle, which went across the centre median and hit a truck,” he said.
It is believed the truck in turn hit the bakkie, which hit a boundary wall. Two men in the bakkie were killed instantly and a third was seriously injured. The truck driver escaped with minor injuries.”It happened so fast,” said Colin. “It was horrendous.”
