SPCA, guide dogs join paws to host fun event

After a dog walk, there will be an olympics for your four-legged friends.

AMANZIMTOTI SPCA and the SA Guide Dog Association have joined ‘paws’ to host a dog walk to raise funds for both organisations on Sunday, 28 September.

The walk starts at Lords and Legends at Hutchison Park at 8am for 8.30am, which is along the Toti River to the old River Gardens Hotel and back.

Entry is R20 per dog and the walk should be an hour long. All dogs must be on leashes at all times.
Owners should also take water and bags to pick up poop.

A variety of activities have been planned after the walk. The SA Guide Dog Association will host a dog olympics comprising various obstacle courses. Owners will also have the opportunity to show off their pets, as they strut their stuff on the catwalk in the ‘best-dressed’ and ‘look-a-like’ categories. Entry is R10 per event.

Fleamarket stalls will also be selling goods. If you have something interesting to sell, which does not have to be pet-related, contact Michelle Hannan on 031-904-2425/5. Stalls cost R100 each.
Donations of pet food and prizes will be appreciated.
