Rhythmic gymnasts flex their medal muscle

Four girls have qualified to attend a national competition in Cape Town.

FUSION Rhythmic gymnasts won a number of medals between them at a provincial competition in Glenwood on Saturday 30 August.
In the level one U8 category, Danielle Smal received a bronze medal and placed eighth. In the level one U9 category, Kayla Steyn placed first overall and received a gold medal.

In the level one U10 group, Kaydi Hartzenburg placed third and received a silver medal and Zoe Praschma placed first and received gold.
Lulu Kweyama placed first overall in level one, over 11 and achieved the highest score in level one.

In the level two U8 category, Megan O’Connor received a gold medal and placed fourth. In the level 2, U10 group, Tanya Nieuwoudt placed third and received a silver medal and Bianca van Oudtshoorn placed second and received a gold medal.

In the level two, U11 age group, Danielle Rossouw came second overall and received silver. In the level three U9 category, Lanesca Esterhuizen placed fourth and received a gold medal. The winners from level one to three were awarded medals according to their scores, not how they placed.

In the level five O15 category, Amarah Hoosain placed first. In level 6 U15 group, Kelly Lightfoot placed fifth and Zas Mkhize placed first overall in the level six O15 category.
Amarah, Kelly, Zas and Samara Lutchman also participated in a hoop group and they placed second. All four of these girls qualified to represent KZN at the national competition at the Good Hope Centre, Cape Town, in October.
Coach, Jess Botha is proud of their achievements and will accompany them as KZN team coach.
