UPDATE: Police seek help in identifying Warner Beach murder victim

A knife covered in blood was found at the scene.

TOTI police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the dead woman who was found on the beach at Warner Beach railway station at about 8am on Thursday, 4 September.

“The body of a black woman, who was light in complexion, was found by a member of the public who was walking along the beach. The body was covered in blood and had multiple stab wounds, one under the chin, one in the neck and three in the abdomen,”said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

The woman was dressed in a long sleeve yellow jacket, denim shorts and peach-coloured sandals. It is suspected she may have been sexually assaulted.
“A knife covered in blood, a Blackberry cellphone, a straw of whoonga and some coins were recovered at the scene.”

The body was taken to Park Rynie mortuary. Toti detectives are investigating a case of murder and no arrests have been made.
