Little cancer fighter gets his wings

He lived his dream of being a policeman for a day.

LITTLE cancer patient, Lungelo Mhlongo of Umbumbulu lived his dream of being a policeman for a day on Friday, 29 August.

The plucky youngster started his day at Airwing KZN, based at the old Durban International Airport, by taking to the skies in a helicopter with his mother, Pamela and the unit’s staff. Before his flight Lungelo (5) had a photo shoot with Airwing staff, representatives of Reach for a Dream and other supporters.

“He wanted to fly over his home town of Umbumbulu, Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban and along the coast back to the base,” said unit commander,” Col Dharmesh Parsotam. However, his day did not end there, he also visited the new camera control office and had a ride in a police boat in the harbour.
