Young artists to juggle creative ideas ahead of art contest

Art will be collected from schools on 2 October.

SCHOOL pupils are urged to put their artistic thinking caps on and enter the Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare’s schools art competition, which is around the corner.

The competition will be held at the Galleria Mall and the theme is ‘Circus circus’.
Art will be collected from schools on Thursday, 2 October and will be on display at the mall from 20 to 27 October,” said convenor, Oriel Andrews.

The judging of all art is done by independent judges and not by members of child welfare.
The prizegiving will be held on Saturday, 25 October at noon at the Galleria.

Kingsburgh Welfare has hosted the children’s art competition for the last 19 years and it is one of the organisation’s major fundraising projects. “Over 1,000 pictures are displayed from over 25 schools in and around Amanzimtoti, and we look forward to a record number of entries.”
