Police nab 27 criminals

Thirteen were arrested for drunk driving in a roadblock operation.

TOTI SAPS recorded 27 successful arrests between 12 and 18 August.
In a joint roadblock operation between Toti police and Metro Police, 13 people were arrested for drunk driving.

During a raid conducted by Toti detectives, the following arrests were made: One for shoplifting, one for possession of one straw of whoonga in Beach Road, one for possession of dagga at the Galleria taxi rank and one for general theft.
According to Toti communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy, an arrest was made for murder with added counts of house robbery and the theft of a vehicle.

Two people were also arrested for general theft; five for shoplifting, one for keeping of vicious dogs and one for the disturbance of peace.
Police recovered 113 slopes of dagga discarded in Beach Road; a Samsung 32 inch television and a vehicle.
They also secured a conviction for housebreaking and theft, where Graham Sandile Gumede (33) was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
