A man was shot and killed in Doonheights on Tuesday, 19 August.
Police said the complainant had heard the victim had stolen from him. When he confronted the victim, he pulled out a knife. The complainant pulled out his firearm. During a struggle the firearm went off.
“A case of murder is being investigated by Amanzimtoti SAPS,” said Colonel Jay Naicker of the SAPS KZN media centre.
“It is alleged that on Tuesday, 19 August at about 12.25pm, at the corner of Thomas Holstead and Nathaniel Road, a 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A 36-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear in court soon.”
