Silver Dollar A mounts 15-3 push over Warnadoone D

The three point lead in the first round of Kingsburgh Sports A against Reef D was the last of winning any other rounds.

Warnadoone D suffered a major beating against Silver Dollar A, throwing at least three games away.

The evening looked bleak as Warnadoone D suffered one white-wash in each of the first and second rounds and only managed to hold on to one point scored in the second, third and fourth rounds. Barry Hill took a full house with team mates and Nico Davies, Deon Pool and Petrus Naudé each taking three of their four games. Insult was added to injury as Silver Dollar A seized both the doubles matches, scoring a push-over 15-3 victory.

Ollies A and Silver Dollar C alternated, taking two wins at a time. The third round ensued as the teams were tie. Ollies A took the last three games in the third round and Silver Dollar B grabbed three points from the fourth round. Ollies A’s Cliffy Govender and Silver Dollar B’s Lizelle Zietsman and Melrick Venter each took three of their four games. A safe split of doubles points left the teams both saving face with a tie.

Sapphire Cove A took their first point in the first round against Ollies C, only two in the third round and scrambled for the crumbs of a single point in the fourth round. Ollies C’s Buhle Maseko took a grand full house, with team mates Mthe Msomi, Njabulo Qiya and Sapphire Cove A’s Mike van Heerden taking three of their four games. A split in the doubles games left Ollies C with an overpowering 13-5 victory.

The three point lead in the first round of Kingsburgh Sports A against Reef D was the last of winning any other rounds. Reef D left Kingsburgh Sports A with the exact opposite for the next three rounds. Reef D’s Johnny Roets, Clint Mooiman, Barry de Beer and Kingsburgh Sports A’s Jevon Thorley each took three of their four games. A split in the doubles points left Reef D with a comfortable 11-7 victory.

The postponed game played on Friday, Sapphire Cove B versus Ollies B, gave Sapphire Cove B a glimmer of hope as they annexed the first round‘s points. Ollies B only allowed them one point in each of the second and third round. The even fourth round left the teams with a tie. Sapphire Cove B’s reserve Mike van Heerden took a fantastic full house and Ollies B’s Levin Poonan took three of his four games. Ollies D won the doubles games and pipped Sapphire Cove B to the post with a sure 10-8 victory
