SARDINE RUN: Sardine run ‘unlikely’ amid warm water [POLL]

KZN coast to miss sardine run for second year in a row

Water temperatures are warming in the lower KwaZulu-Natal south coast. There has been no sardine activity off the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.
However on the Eastern Cape coast at Coffee Bay, there is a good amount of activity with hundreds of Cape gannets and dolphins seen daily in the area.
It is possible that environmental changes or even overfishing could be some of the reasons that have resulted in sardines not beaching along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
