BREAKING NEWS: Toti woman, grandson killed in M4 crash

While Sharon Small died in the collision, it has been confirmed that her grandson (15) also died later in hospital.

He was one of three people critically injured in the accident. Two others sustained serious injuries – one of them an one-year-old child – in the crash, in which two cars are believed to have collided head-on.

Netcare 911 paramedics found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frame of one of the vehicles. The wreckage of the other vehicle came to rest on its side, wedged up against a tree in the veld.

After triaging, medics found a woman, who was later identified as Small, had succumbed to her injuries.

Paramedics transported the injured to various hospitals.
