Lizette keeps pace on her 420km fundraising journey

Remember to enter for the Totalsports womens race it is a pre-entry only at Totalsports shops or online.

WELL done to all Run Walk For Life (RWFL) athletes who participated in the Savages 21km and 10km run walk on Sunday.

Every athlete who participated achieved a personal best – which just shows what regular training can do for your running or walking.

Keep up the good work and remember only you can make the choice to train regularly.

A reminder that Lizette Botha is one of the star athletes running to collect money for Emma, an 18-month-old baby who is fighting cancer. Lizette has run the Comrades (89km) and be run the longest day, and event in which she will run 12 hours around the track over a distance of about 100km on 26 July. Then on 19 and 20 September, she will tackle the 100 Miler (161km) 24 hour circuit race in Pietermaritzburg. She will take an hour’s rest for the trip from Pietermaritzburg to Amanzimtoti where she will complete her quest by doing some 10 hours to cover about 70km at the Cansa Relay at Kingsway High School. If all goes well, she would have run 420km to collect money for Cansa. RWFL urges companies, families and schools to support Lizette by pledging money towards this cause. Sponsor her per kilometre or make a donation.

Her favourite saying is ‘while she is healthy and has a body, she will put it to use in order to help those in need’. RWFL Amanzimtoti is behind her 100%. Call Jan Botha with queries on 082-290-4025.

RWFL challenges any person whether unfit, overweight, inactive to join the club. Call Jan for details.
