Art association donates funds to NPO

The next art exhibition will take place at Seadoone Mall from 12 to 18 July.

Operation Bobbi Bear was the beneficiary of a recent art exhibition held at the Galleria shopping centre.

The Upper South Coast Art Association (USCAA), which celebrated its 32nd birthday this year, has a policy that it gives something back to the community in the way of commissions from sales at their exhibitions, or income from raffles held. It donated R2,000 to the organisation that fights for the rights of sexually abused children.

The club prefers to support local charities when staging art exhibitions. “There are many deserving organisations in the community who need support from the locals and our art club is proud to be able to donate a portion of our sales to the less fortunate,” said president of USCAA, Joan Ray.

The next art exhibition will take place at Seadoone Mall from 12 to 18 July.

“Be sure to visit the artists and view their artwork at this exhibition. There will be paintings on show to suit everyone’s tastes and you will find quality pieces at affordable prices,” said Joan.

Anyone wishing to attend the next club meeting at Amanzimtoti library is welcome to visit. The meeting takes place on Saturday, 19 July at 1.30pm, with demonstrator Val Stevens, who will do a pastel painting.

Visitors are welcome and the cost is R25, which includes tea. For more information, contact Joan Ray on 082-951-3686.
