Illovu bodybuilder claims top spot

Sinethemba preparing for the IFBB KZN Open in August where she hopes to qualify to compete at the SA champs.

SINETHEMBA Mfeka (25) of Illovu, won first place in the ladies physique section, which was the first time it was included at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) KZN East Coast Classic championships on Saturday, 28 June.

Sinethemba, who is no stranger to competition, boasts an impressive resume, which she looks to improve on.

She placed second at the USSA competition in 2012 in the female body-building section. In 2013, she took second place at both WPFSA and NABBA competitions in the ladies physique and toned figure divisions respectively. She competed at the IFBB SA nationals in 2013 and claimed third place.

Currently, she is in preparation for the IFBB KZN Open in August where she hopes to qualify to compete at the SA champs.

Sinethemba, who is studying to be a horticulturist trains seven days a week when preparing for competitions and five days a week off-season. She adheres to a strict diet of no carbs, greens, oats and chicken fillets and drinks seven litres of water a day.

“I want to continue with physique. My body fits well in this category. My goal is to become a professional and compete overseas,” she said.

With clear goals and dedication to back her up, Sinethemba is sure to conquer the stage at any level.
