A VEHICLE used in a hijacking at Mayville Terrace on Saturday, 24 May was recovered on Wednesday, 28 May in R-section, Umlazi.
The recovery was due to intensive investigation by Toti SAPS task team members, Sgt Thembinkosi Thwala and Csts Mandilakhe Sumayela and Sthobile Mbongwe.
Further investigations and tracing operations by the provincial task team led to the arrest of one of the hijackers in Montclair on Saturday, 31 May.
During the incident, four men allegedly accosted a 45-year-old man and tried to hijack his vehicle at gunpoint. They shot him in the leg at about 4pm in Mayville Terrace.
He allegedly shot and killed one of the hijackers, who died at the scene.
The other three sped off in their getaway vehicle.
